William Howard Sheridan, 89, of Stanton, Delaware, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones Saturday, June 21, 2018 after a long illness.
Bill was a lifelong Delaware resident, born in Wilmington in 1928. He served in the Army during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Corporal and earning his G.E.D. He returned to the States in 1956 and accepted employment at the Kaumagraph Company, where he would work as a lithographic plate-maker for four decades. Bill served as Shop Steward at Kaumagraph and was elected President of Local 58 of the Graphic Arts International Union.
Bill was a good tradesman, a good union man, a good Democrat, a good neighbor, a good carpenter, a good mechanic, a good family man, a good American. Bill Sheridan was a good man.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Norine Sheridan; and is survived by his son, Robert L. Hayman, Jr. and daughter-in-law Alice Eakin; his daughter, Cynthia Heim; his grandsons, Stephen Heim and Caleb Hayman; and his brother Robert Victor.
A visitation hour will be held at the Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 on Monday July 30. A private internment ceremony will follow.
