William (Bill) W. Valentine
Age 72, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 28, 1938, in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Francis W. and Grace T. Valentine.
Bill graduated from Conrad High School in 1956 and from the University of Delaware in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He retired as an industrial engineer from the Chrysler Corp. in 2000 after 32 years of service.
Pop Pop's greatest passion in life was his "grandboys", Anthony (Big Guy) and Dominic (Little Guy). He also took pride in preparing and caring for his flower gardens around the house. Bill also volunteered for several years at the LPGA Golf Tournaments in DE and MD.
Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan (McGovern) Valentine, their daughters, Laureen Valentine of Newark and Marsha Mazzola and her husband Antonio Jr. and their children, Anthony and Dominic of Windsor, VA; his sister, Nancy V. Sandukas and her husband Theodos of Newark and their children, Melanie Sandukas of Richmond, VA, and Gregory Sandukas of New York City; and his faithful buddy, Gilley-Cat.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Saturday morning, September 25th at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, September 24th. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Newark.
