Obituary

Wilmer (Bill) A. Reiter

Age 57, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 15, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bill was a 1970 graduate of Corpus Christi High School. He owned and operated Rite Way Lawn Service & Landscaping Co. for over 30 years. Bill had a true passion for perfecting his customers' lawns. Bill enjoyed many hobbies such as finding treasures while metal detecting. He was proud of earning his blackbelt in Taekwondo. He also adored his dogs, especially Shadow who passed away shortly before Bill became ill in May.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 21 years, Margie A. (McGovern) Reiter. Together they have their cherished daughter, Kelly N. Reiter. He is also survived by his parents, Wilmer and Anna Reiter. He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Susan and her husband Steven Cook, Donna and her husband Joseph Weeks, and Nikki and her husband Robert Morrison; his mother-in-law Ceil McGovern; his in-laws Joan and Bill Valentine, Pat and Eddie Lesniczak, George and Mary Ann McGovern. He was a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews and a caring friend to all who knew him.

His family wishes to express a special thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice and the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center for all their support.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth R. C. Church, Oak & Clayton Sts., Wilmington on Wednesday, January 20th at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere, Tuesday, January 19th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Newark.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19713, or St. Elizabeth R. C. Church, 809 S. Broom St., Wilmington, DE 19805.
