Obituary

Winifred (Vari) Marcheski
"Winnie"

Age 82, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013, peacefully at her home. She was the daughter of the late Alice Bowers and James Lee.

She was raised in Wilmington. She became a wonderful homemaker and had seven children. Winnie lived for her children and was a very loving wife, mother, mom mom, big mom mom, sister and friend to anyone who knew her. She enjoyed collecting dolls that she shared generously with her children and grandchildren and anyone else who admired them. She also enjoyed anything Disney, especially going to Disney World with a grandchild or two. Later in life she really enjoyed going to Delaware Park with her family which was so much fun. All who came to see her or knew her would always talk about her beautiful smile that we will always remember and miss dearly. She was a very sweet, kind and generous lady.

Winnie was preceded in death by a son, Frankie. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Marcheski; her five daughters, Joyce Porter (Tom), Jackie Davis (Lonnie), Debbie (Vari) Counts, Denise Enzinger (Charlie), Deanna Duschl (Tab); and her son, Jim Vari (Kim); her stepson, Ken Marcheski (Sandy); stepdaughter Kathy Guzzo (Dan); 19 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Walter Lee, Bruce Lee and Gary Lee; and her sisters, Sandra Hults, Diane Busch, and Dawn (Bowers) Capano.

Winnie's family would also like to express their sincere thanks to her longtime caregiver, Judy Dominelli who was like a daughter to their mother and a sister to them. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice especially to Judy Bentick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 6 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-6 pm Monday evening. Interment is private.
