In 1917, Krienen Brothers was established in Wilmington. The funeral home was located at the northeast corner of 4th and Broom Streets. A second location was opened in 1920 in New Castle. Krienen Brothers expanded and acquired the Griffith Funeral Home in June of 1971 and became what's known today as Krienen-Griffith Funeral Homes.
Today, Krienen-Griffith is under the direction of William J. Krienen, III, the third generation of Krienens to serve the families of Wilmington and New Castle.
