Ocean View

This will always be my fondest memory of Mary.....

Mary loved to look at the ocean.  I could see the happiness in Mary when she sat on the couch with her feet on the ottoman and she was in direct view of the ocean.  She commented again and again how she could not have a better view of the ocean.  She had her Kindle, and her Ipad and a view that she cherished and loved.  I loved the hat she wore to keep the sun out of her eyes as she enjoyed that view.

When Mary wasn't enjoying her view of the ocean, she was writing down the ingredients to her next fabulous meal that she would be preparing for lunch or dinner.  She knew when I needed protein and before I knew it I had turkey, swiss cheese and pickel wraps.  Fried Carrots anyone?  Mary loved watching the Food Channel because she was always getting new ideas for recipes.  She loved to make us happy with her cooking and God knows we loved eating what she had whipped up for us.  I'll never forget Mary watching a show on the Food Network and whatever show we were watching, they were cooking bread pudding.  Inspired, Mary hopped up out of her chair and went to the kitchen, and within an hour, we were eating delicous bread pudding.

Mary fought a courageous battle, and I am all the better for spending the time I did with her.  Whenever I am looking at the ocean, I will fondly recall Mary basking in her wonderful view and "cooking" up the next excellent beach meal.   I am so grateful I was able to spend this special time with her and see her so happy.
