Obituary for John J. ""Jack" "Reds"" Houghton

Received his eternal reward on September 19, 2017. He proudly served as a Corporal in the US Marine Corp. from 1954-1962. He was a member of Local 74, and a lifetime parishioner of Corpus Christi R.C Church.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, and willingness to help family, friends, and neighbors.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Mary (Dougherty) Houghton; his son, Michael; and his brother, Bernard.
He is survived by his “bride”, Evelyn (Horne) of 58 years; children, Deborah Ceresini (Phil), John (Lisa), David (Barbara), Edward (Lisa), Kathleen Arnold (John), Sandra Smith (Joseph), Michelle Farris (Dave), Steven (Ashley); his sister, Sally Paraskewich; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Treml; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Dr. Melissa Morgan-Gouveia, and Latrina Jones-Atwater RN who went above and beyond in caring for our father.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 905 New Rd. Wilmington, DE 19805, on Saturday September 23, at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 10:30. Interment will be private.
