Passed away suddenly at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia surrounded by her family.
Jane was a member of St. Ann’s R.C. Church in Bethany. She was an active member of the community and gave of her time in many different charitable and service organizations.
Jane enjoyed traveling, with her husband, Robert, to a variety of places. However her favorite destination was Hawaii. Jane was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her absolute greatest joy was simply spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Layton and Jennie (Hemphill) Gray; her first husband, Eugene T. Handlin, Sr.; her brothers, Buzzy and Bill Gray; and her sister, Frances Duncan.
Jane will be dearly missed by her husband, Robert L. Thompson; her children, Joanne Thielemann (Bill), Eugene T. Handlin, Jr. (Laurie), Pattie Taylor (Fred), and Robert Handlin (Linda); her 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband’s children, Cheryl Rohm and Lauren Jones.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Beloved R.C. Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilm., De 19808, on Wednesday, January 4 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Wednesday morning from 9:30am-11:30am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to a charity of your choice in Jane’s name.
