Dolores Rita Ciarlo
(Nee Schelich)

Dolores passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 22, 1929 to Alice and Joseph Schelich. In 1953 she married the love of her life, Joseph Ciarlo. They were married 48 years. Dolores was very proud of her family heritage of the landmark Shelich Bakery in Browntown.

Mom was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family at the family beach house in Rehoboth Beach, DE. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, shopping, and dancing. Most of all she loved being with her family.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Alice (Sontowski).


She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ciarlo, Sr. (2001); their daughter, Cheryl Ann (1955); and her infant grandson, Nicholas Ciarlo (2003).



She is survived by her loving sons, Joseph Ciarlo, Jr. and his wife Judy Marie, Jeffrey Ciarlo and his life partner Chuck, Ron Ciarlo and his wife Carol; her grandchildren, Lindsay, Tim, Marc Ciarlo, and Steven Felts, and Katie Ciarlo; and her great grandson, Brayden Tabor; and many other family and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 15th at St. Hedwig R. C. Church, Harrison & Linden Sts., Wilmington at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
