Age 96 of Wilmington
Passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016.
Born in Wilmington, DE, Jean was the daughter of the late Jacob and Eleanor (Miller) Markiewicz. She was one of eleven children.
Jean was married for 65 years to John S. Pietras, who passed away in June of 2007.
She was the mother to three sons, Gerald (Mary Jane) of Ocala, Florida, Donald of Midlothian, Virginia and Phillip (Deborah) Pietras of Great Falls, Virginia. Jean also leaves behind three grandchildren, Jason, Matthew and David Pietras, who were the loves of her life, and her sister, Helen Markiewicz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hedwig’s R.C. Church, 408 S. Harrison St., Wilm., DE 19805, on Friday, August 19 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the church from 9:30-10:30am. Interment will take place in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family askes contributions to be made in Jean’s name to the Oblates of St. Francis, 2200 Kentmere Pkwy., Wilm., DE 19806.
