Obituary for Joan DalGesso

Joan DalGesso

Age 71, daughter of the late James and Florence (Young) Morano, long time resident of Elsmere, current resident of Newark, passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2010.

Before retiring Joan worked at Stewart Evans Plumbing and Heating and S.M.S. Medical Associates.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. Joan had a special place in her heart for holiday traditions. She will live on in the hearts of family and friends. She will be missed greatly but never forgotten. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and close friends, most recently to Lancaster with her sister, Lois Jackson and cousin, Rose DelliGatti. She enjoyed Bible Study and attended Mass at Holy Angels.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pietro DalGesso; her sisters, Rose Cox, Florence DiGiacoma, Betty Smidt; and Margaret Klosowski; and brother, James Morano. She is survived by her sister, Lois Jackson; her daughters, Karen Lattanzio and her husband Sam, Martina Paxson and fiance’ Eric Sharp, and Maria Santa Barbara and her husband Tom; her grandchildren, Andrea Sweeny and husband Matt, Billy Lattanzio and wife Sonya, Samantha Lattanzio and father of her children Bobby Sapp, and Thomas Santa Barbara, Jr.; great grandchildren, Emily, Billy, Aren, Aiden, and Nathan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Angels, Possum Park Rd., on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 12 noon. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Monday morning from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.
