Lucy L Delligatti, 91, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2013, the day after celebrating 61 years of marriage with her beloved husband, John.

Lucy was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anne Yacucci. In addition to John, Lucy is survived by her four daughters, Andrea (Mark Nowaczyk), Sharon, Sandra (Dennis Lafferty), and Linda (Ken Woods); grandchildren, Tim Moore, Eric & Melissa Nowaczyk, Madeline & Natalie Woods, and Victoria Lafferty; and 3 great grandsons. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Joseph Yacucci.

Lucy was a devout Catholic and her devotion to the Blessed Mother and the Rosary was unwavering. She was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality.

After graduating from William Penn High School in 1939, Lucy worked for ABEX in New Castle. Later she worked as a Legal Assistant for the State of Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, retiring in 1987 after 27 years of service.

Lucy was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with her beloved family, reading, crocheting, gardening, boating & fishing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Frank, Rita, Molly, Jane, Phillip, and Al.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 801 N. DuPont Hwy., New Castle on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 11 am. Friends may call at the church Wednesday morning from 10-11 am. Interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
