Marlene E. Thompson
Wilmington – Age 79 passed away on May 28, 2018 at home.
Marlene was born in Wilmington and was the daughter of the late Robert and Maisie (Smith) Poole. She was employed as a preschool teacher at Kiddie Kollege Day Care. She loved going to the beach with her children, watching softball and little league baseball games, and yard sales. She especially loved relaxing on the swing with her beloved dog, Russell.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thompson, Sr., and her sisters, Janet Burris and Dolores Jones. She is survived by her children, Jacqueline, Richard, Jr., Deborah, and Elizabeth Gralewski (Ronald); her grandchildren, Rachael “O’Malley” and Jacob Gralewski, and Richard, Heidi, and Riley Thompson; and her siblings, Alice (Cookie) Nichols and William Poole.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Service on Friday, June 1, at 2:00 pm at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 North duPont Highway, New Castle. A visitation will take place at the Chapel on Friday from 1:00-2:00 pm. Burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.
