Obituary for William F. "Bill" McLaughlin Jr.

William F. "Bill" McLaughlin Jr.
William F. McLaughlin, age 60, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Bill graduated from Conrad High School in 1975. After his parents sold the treasured pop-up camper, he attended the University of Delaware.

Bill began his career with C&D Contractors in Wilmington and went on to cofound The Plumbing Works, M&M, and Landis Management. Later he worked at Boulden Plumbing & Heating. He was most recently employed at EMJAY Engineering & Construction.

Bill enjoyed traveling, riding his beloved Harley, and drinking wine in Rehoboth with his family and puppies.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Patti Palandrani; his daughter, Lauren Hess; his son, Sean (a/k/a Bean) McLaughlin; his grandchildren, E and Lils; his mom, Catherine Shultz; and his beloved puppies, Maddie and Moe. Being the oldest, he practically raised his younger brother, Bern (Donna), and his sister, Cyn (Mike). He is also survived by his sister in-law, Cath (Dave); his nephews, Josh (Robyn), Jerry (Ashley), Bobby (Madison), and Justin; and his niece, Morgan. BBQs and vacations will never be the same for his dear friends, Mike and Lydia, Bob and PJ, Lynn and Dennis, and Barb and Nancy.

The family would like to thank the staff of Christiana Care 5D and 6D, notably Danielle and the staff of Vitas.

Relatives and friends are invited to join us as we celebrate Bill’s life on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 pm At The Rail Wine Bar & Grille, 777 Delaware Park Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19804

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Renee’s Rescues, PO Box 1297, Hockessin DE 19707 OR online at https://reneesrescues.org/donations
