William J. Kane, Jr.

Age 52, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 15, 2011.

Billy was a 1977 graduate of St. Elizabeth High School.

He retired as a firefighter with the Wilmington City Fire Dept. He then worked for the State of Delaware in the Division of Motor Vehicle.

Billy was a lifetime member of St. Elizabeth R. C. Church. He was a member of Int. Assn. Firefighters Local 1590.

Billy was a loyal and devoted Eagles fan.

He loved coaching and being part of his kids’ sports. His greatest joy was being with his family at the beach.

Billy was the son of the late William J. Kane, Sr. who died in July 2000. He is survived by his wife Paula (Manerchia) Kane; his children, Samantha, Kaitlynn, Amanda, and Billy III; his mother, Mary Ann (Brogan) Kane; his granddaughter, Christina; his sisters and brother, Mary Ann O’Neill and her husband Art, Patricia K. Preston and her husband Ben, Michael J. Kane and his wife Ann; and his many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth R. C. Church, Clayton St., Wilmington on Saturday, March 19th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Newark.
