Age 84, of Wilmington, DE died on April 20, 2010 at home with her loving family by her side.

Born on October 6, 1925, Mary was the daughter of State Senator Leo J. Dugan, Sr. and Mary Naylor Dugan, longtime parishioners of St. Mary’s Church. She married Lorenzo V. Croze, Jr. there 62 years ago this month. Mary was a woman of many interests who loved her garden, her dogs, travel, the deck at Bay View, a good glass of wine and, most of all, her family and friends. She was proudly Irish and cherished memories of life “over Third Street bridge”. She was active in the Women’s Democratic Club, the Junior Board of Wilmington Hospital, and a member of the Irish Culture Club of DE.

In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her daughters: Colette; Marianne Perry and her husband, Jim; Jean Bailey and her husband, Kevin; Laure Unkart and her husband, John; and Kathleen Moudy and her husband, Tom; grandchildren: Dan Bailey and his wife Lauren; John Unkart, Jr.; Kyle Bailey, Chris Unkart, and Rebecca Moudy. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leo J. Dugan, Jr.

The family would like to thank Cynthia Henry, Brenda Cannon, and staff at Heartland Hospice who cared for Mary for many years, while her husband and daughter Kathleen made heroic efforts to keep her at home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church at 601 N. Pine St. on May 4 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church.
