Obituary

Richard was born on April 1, 1947 to the late James and Madeline Driggins. He graduated from Chester High School and went on to join the military where he served in the Army. Following his time in the service he had a long career at Westinghouse, as well as Septa where he met his wife, Jacqueline. Richard had a love for horses and participated with the Buffalo Soldiers.

Richard and Jacqueline met right after he moved to Alaska. They became friends and pretty much were inseparable.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; his sons, James Richard Driggins, Brian K Driggins; daughter, Daniella N. Driggins; his brother, Christopher Driggins; his step-children, Carl Scott, Thomas R Cossom, Robert L Cossom, Steven I Cossom, Luchiea A Cossom; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and his aunt, Beulah Dale Wallace. As well as brothers and sisters in law; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service on Saturday, July 18 at 3:00pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy. Wilmington, DE 19805. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-3pm.

**I can say that Richard was a close friend who I could always talk too, we would share stories of our time in the service and life issues. We would spend most everyday talking or riding on my daily runs at work. Most people thought he was a government employee because we were always together. I am going to miss my buddy for now, but I take great delight in knowing that we will meet again as children of God.**

My heartfelt condolences to Jackie and her family. I came to know Richard when he was a resident at the VA. He always had a smile and he and my daughter would have long conversations. I know the grief you are feeling. Be strong and know that you had a wonderfully caring man in your life. God knows what's best. Our prayers are with you and your family.
Sincerely,
Marie Dash
